What started out as a game night between a group of friends ended up being the start of a blossoming relationship between Ivan and Selvi. They met in Vancouver when Ivan hosted a board game night and one of his friends brought Selvi along. He asked her number for “future events” and after many “just us” events, they decided to become official. After three years, Ivan finally popped the question during a surprise helicopter ride and with a few happy tears, she said “Yes!”

The Preparation
Ivan was in Vancouver and Selvi was already in Indonesia a few months prior to the wedding. Because of the distance, it seemed impossible for them to plan a wedding in Bali, but with the help from Tirtha’s wedding team, their “romantic, vintage, and bohemian” themed wedding sailed smoothly. “There were some stressful times, but it wasn’t as bad as we thought. We just had to remind each other that no matter how meticulously we were with the wedding, we just had to trust God’s plans for us” Selvi said.
The Tea Ceremony

The breathtaking clifftop view and tropical villa vibes were what attracted the couple to have their wedding at Tirtha Uluwatu. “It was love at first sight!” they explained. The couple had long distance wedding planning;
“I had so many happy moments, but the best would be when I saw her walking down the aisle with her father,” Ivan recalled with a smile.
“Thank you for loving and accepting me for the way I am,” Selvi gushed to her husband. Selvi was beyond ecstatic when Ivan told her that the day he met her, he immediately knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Ivan wore a light gray suit with a navy blue bow tie tailored by Indochino, while Selvi wore a custom made wedding gown by Bramanta Wijaya. Her gown was a two-piece mermaid style with intricate lace designs.

The Reception at Tirtha Uluwatu
Grand Entrance
Families and friends flew in to Bali for the ceremony and everyone had a joyous time. Guests socialized and gave wonderful speeches for the couple. Delicious Indonesian food was served and the guests gobbled them up and even asked for seconds! “The canapes were our favorite! Even though we didn’t have time to eat everything that was prepared, we loved the canapes,” they said. “Both sweet and savory, the food was executed scrumptiously.”
Cake Cutting & First Dance
Most of the guests already knew each other so they thoroughly enjoyed the company. The vibes that night were surely entertaining and memorable for everyone.
