The Preparation at Glass House

Though they returned to their respective hometowns, the memory of their meeting lingered. When Akari decided to visit him in Los Angeles, he eagerly showed her around his city. As they explored familiar streets and discovered new favorites together, a deeper bond blossomed. During this visit, Michaljon realized that their connection was worth nurturing, despite the miles that separated them.

Their journey unfolded over the next year, cherishing precious moments spent together, whether in person or through phone calls. They made the most of their 24 days face-to-face over seven months. The distance couldn't dim their flame, and they made a promise over the phone that would change their lives.

Driven by unwavering love, Michaljon made a bold move. He sold his car and left his job behind. With courage and a heart full of love, he flew to Japan, ready to take their relationship to the next level.

With Shibuya crossing, the very place where their story began, as his backdrop, Michaljon got down on one knee. The bustling intersection became a stage for his proposal, hilariously punctuated by a light change and a helpful stranger capturing the moment!

When reunited in Japan, the couple always found themselves drawn to the beauty of Southeast Asia. The bride had always envisioned a wedding infused with the serenity of Bali, inspired by the paradise she often saw in travel magazines and brochures.
However, for Akari, Tirtha wasn't just a beautiful location; it symbolized the harmonious union of two worlds. The multicultural background, imbuing Japanese finesse with Balinese beauty, and the multilingual staff, fluent in Japanese and English, ensured a welcoming atmosphere for herself and her guests.

Tirtha, with its balance of openness and enclosure, captured their hearts. The venue seamlessly blended the outdoors with indoor comfort. Its light and airy atmosphere made it an ideal party space, unlike traditional hotels or cafes with their jarring separations.
Tirtha's harmonious integration of outdoor elements and indoor decorations created a space that felt both expansive and intimate.

The intimate setting, with just 30 guests, fostered a sense of closeness and warmth. It allowed them to truly connect with each person present, creating lasting memories. Friendships blossomed effortlessly, with guests forging connections that extended beyond the occasion.

“It didn't feel overwhelming. There was plenty of breathing space. People could enjoy the best of the outdoors while still having the comfort of an enclosed area,” Michaljon recounted.

For the color palette, they drew inspiration from the natural beauty of Bali, opting for shades of green, white, and beige, with occasional pops of red. They aimed to capture the essence of Bali’s lush landscapes rather than the typical tropical beach vibe.
The green represented the island's verdant foliage, white symbolized purity and tranquility, while beige added a touch of earthiness. The red accents provided vibrant focal points, evoking the island's rich cultural heritage and natural splendor.

Grand Entrance
Planning a wedding, especially from a distance, could have been daunting. But the Tirtha team became invaluable allies. They patiently listened to Akari's vision, carefully translating her dreams into reality.

Cake Cutting
While Akari took the lead on planning, the team ensured Michaljon was not left out. The groom particularly appreciated the comprehensive rundown he received the day before the wedding, allowing him to feel fully prepared and involved.

First Dance
Michaljon, while acknowledging his desire for the celebration to be a reflectnon of Akari's wishes, expressed a bit of wistfulness. He wished he had taken on a bigger role in planning to alleviate some of the stress from her shoulders. Yet, seeing Akari's joy on their wedding day made everything worth it.
