Pre-Wedding Ceremony
India, a country known for its diverse cultural heritage, celebrates Hindu weddings with a myriad of rituals and customs that extend beyond the wedding day itself. Indian weddings truly encapsulate grandeur and splendor, making it a unique experience for everyone.
Welcome Board
A beautifully-adorned welcome board featuring a white and blue color scheme sets the tone for the bride and groom's aspiration of embarking on a new journey filled with joy and happiness.
Bridal Hair & Makeup
As the bride commences her hair and makeup preparations, she readies herself to embrace and experience the moments she has long been waiting for.
Preparations for Groom
The groom, too, begins his preparations in a separate room, getting ready to embrace the new chapter ahead.
Indian Hindu Wedding Ceremony: Mehendi
Mehendi ceremonies, hosted by the bride's family, serve as a way to bestow blessings upon her. Relatives apply symbolic mehendi to mark her hands, after which professional staff continue adorning the bride's hands and arms. According to a popular belief, the deeper the color of the bride's mehendi, the stronger the groom's love for her.
Indian Hindu Wedding Ceremony: Sangeet Reception
Sangeet, celebrated on the eve of the wedding, derives its name from the Hindi word for "music." This joyous celebration involves music, singing, dancing, and various forms of entertainment, all performed by family and friends in a colorful and festive atmosphere.
Music
The essence of the Indian Hindu wedding lies in collective enjoyment, where everyone comes together as one family and group of friends. It is a time to revel in singing and dancing, completely immersed in the moment, disregarding the passage of time.
Dancing
In line with Indian customs, the celebration culminates with a collective dance, symbolizing the strengthened bond between the bride, groom, and their loved ones. This delightful evening of Sangeet gracefully passes, leaving behind cherished moments and further fostering the spirit of togetherness.
Mandap Decorations
Mandap decorations are integral to Indian Hindu weddings. Each of the four pillars holds symbolic significance, representing distinct life stages and serving as a focal point to witness the wedding ceremony. The presence of the mandap is paramount, as it forms the cornerstone without which an authentic Indian wedding celebration would be incomplete.

Indian weddings have a unique tradition where the bride and groom, as if they are strangers, enact romantic stories at the Mandap. The groom is typically accompanied by family, relatives, and friends in a grand procession (Baarat) leading to the Mandap.

The bride, accompanied by her bridesmaids, makes her entrance to the Mandap. The Antarpat, an auspicious cloth, symbolizes the separate existence of the bride and groom before marriage, adding a touch of tradition and significance to the ceremony.

Upon reaching the Mandap, the bride and groom lovingly exchange garlands with each other. It is believed that the person who places the garland first will gain an advantage in their married life.

Once pronounced as husband and wife, the newlyweds depart from the Mandap, surrounded by showering petals from jubilant guests. This marks the start of their new chapter, blessed with happiness.
