The Preparation at Tirtha Uluwatu

A groomsman pins a boutonniere on Deke's wedding suit as he gazes at his reflection during wedding preparations.
Alison beams in her reflection, dressed in a lace gown and veil while holding a bouquet during wedding preparations.

“There's just something about Bali.” Perhaps it's the warmth, the ocean breeze, or the way time slows enough for you to be fully present. They couldn't quite explain it, only that it felt aligned. “Almost vibrational,” the couple said. Like everything landed where it was meant to.

Alison, in a backless lace gown, smiles over her shoulder, showing statement drop earrings as her hair falls to one side.
Deke, in his ivory gold-embroidered wedding suit, adjusts his glasses, with a pink boutonniere pinned to his lapel.

For Alison and Deke, love is a slow, beautiful evolution. There is something special about growing up alongside someone and finding this alignment every step of the way. Having known each other “forever,” they’ve grown through every definition of love imaginable. From the simple joys of childhood friendship to the steady, intuitive connection they share today, the road to the altar is a testament to growing together.

The proposal was also a reflection of how in tune they’ve always been.
Alison had planned a trip to Vietnam just so Deke could have authentic phở. While she was simply in holiday mode and had no expectations of a ring, she'd once imagined her dream proposal would happen on a rowboat.

Laughing and huddling on a staircase, Deke and his groomsmen are staggered across the steps with Deke at the front.

Deke, meanwhile, had planned to propose on top of a mountain. But the day was hot, and Alison was exhausted, so he pivoted. They wandered back through the lantern-lined streets of Hoi An and found themselves in a small canoe drifting along the river, golden reflections beaming across the water. And there, he popped the question - having no idea he was recreating her vision.

When it came time to choose a wedding venue, Tirtha Bali was the first they viewed. The couple felt a connection from the beginning. The rowboat by the water near the chapel offered a poetic reference to their proposal story.

The visual identity of the day was pinned down by a lifelong favorite: purple. Rather than a singular, static tone, the couple curated a sophisticated gradient where lilac layered with crisp bone-whites, soft blush, and a cool touch of blue.

The Reception at Tirtha Uluwatu

Inside the reception, the couple realized a vision of a floating garden that utilized the full volume of the space. Thousands of florals cascaded from the ceiling, through shimmering crystal chandeliers, with delicate fringed pendant lights that broke up the sweeping lines of the drapery. At its heart, it was Alison’s affinity for fantasy, shaped by an editorial eye.

The sweetheart table anchored the room with texture. Floor-to-ceiling arrangements rose from the ground to meet the blooms suspended above, creating the illusion that the couple was seated within a living, breathing landscape.

Grand Entrance

Alison and Deke celebrate their cake-cutting moment, with Deke raising the cake knife as guests cheer around them.

Between the glow of the chandeliers and the intricate gold detailing of Deke’s jacket, every element felt artistically translated from their own personalities. The couple remains deeply grateful to the Tirtha team for executing the vision so perfectly.

Cake Cutting

Beyond the decor, the day was defined by a sense of synergy, the couple shared. There wasn’t a single standout moment, but rather the way every element - the venue, the flow, the food - came together to create one perfect day.

First Dance

The couple described a unique sense of being “one” with everyone present, from their closest guests to the photographers and bartenders. It didn’t feel like it was about professional service, it was a genuine “duty of care” that radiated from the Tirtha staff. Every person involved felt less like they were doing a job and more like they were celebrating alongside the couple. Their own personalities shone through, which made the day even more special. “One hundred per cent Tirtha is the wedding venue in Bali,” the groom said.
